about us

Pi-FAB, the School of Architecture's suite of dedicated production facilities at Pratt Institute, serves as a dynamic and evolving workshop designed to support students in creating, learning, and testing both representational and functional models. Spanning across Higgins Hall on our Brooklyn campus, our facilities represent the heart of making at the School of Architecture.

Our team of five full-time staff members is committed to maintaining a clean, well-organized, and safe environment for all users while fostering a culture of craftsmanship and innovation. We offer a blend of six specialized analog and digital facilities—including our Wood Shop, Metal Shop, Laser Lab, CNC Lab, Robotics Lab, and Innovative Materials Lab—each equipped with unique tools, software, and engagement policies to assist you throughout your model-making journey. By bridging traditional woodworking and metalworking with advanced robotic and digital fabrication, we empower students to push the boundaries of design. If you have any questions about model-making, craftsmanship, or how to interact with our production spaces, please don’t hesitate to reach out to us.
